Advisory

Advisory services

Two situations call for senior judgement delivered at speed: the bid that must be won, and the boardroom that must decide. We serve both – with the same practitioners, the same candour, and the same refusal to tell you what is merely convenient.

01

Bid Support

Competitive bids are won and lost in the credibility of the technical story. Evaluators – particularly public-sector and enterprise evaluators – have read a thousand elegant, empty solution narratives. They score the bid whose architecture visibly holds together, whose risks are honestly priced, and whose authors have plainly built such things before.

Talk to us about your bid

What we bring to your bid team

Solution architecture for the bid: a design that is genuinely buildable at the price being quoted, because the fastest way to lose money is to win on a fiction. Technical authoring that answers the question asked, in the evaluator's own structure and scoring language. Challenge and rehearsal: we red-team the solution before the evaluators do, and we prepare your presenters for the technical scrutiny sessions where bids actually die. And win-theme discipline: the two or three technical claims that differentiate you, made everywhere, substantiated everywhere.

How we engage

Bid work is sprint work. We mobilise in days, integrate into your bid rhythm and your deal team's tooling, and operate under your confidentiality regime without friction – we are accustomed to clean-room and conflict-walled arrangements. After the decision, win or lose, we contribute honestly to the review; a lost bid whose lessons are captured is a cheaper education than most.

The failure this prevents

The bid that scored well on everything except the section that mattered – and the win that becomes a loss-making contract because the solution was priced on hope.

Executive Advisory

Boards and executives are asked to make consequential technology decisions on the strength of briefings written by people with positions to defend. Our role is to be the adviser with no position: to translate the estate's technical truth into decision language, without loss and without spin.

What we advise on

Major investment decisions – replatforming, ERP, cloud, AI – where the board needs an independent view of the case before committing; technology strategy and its honest alignment (or otherwise) with the business strategy; CIO and CTO counsel, including the questions it is difficult to ask inside one's own organisation; technology due diligence framing for investors and acquirers; and, increasingly, AI posture – what is genuinely load-bearing for your business, what is décor, and what the realistic adoption path costs.

How we engage

Standing advisory retainers with a named veteran; pre-decision briefings shaped to a specific board question; or periodic independent review of the technology function's direction. In every form, the deliverable standard is the same: the answer first, the reasoning at auditable depth, and the risks ranked by consequence. Where our advice is unwelcome, you will receive it anyway, in writing. That is the service.

The failure this prevents

The board that discovers, two years and nine figures later, that the question it approved was not the question it was asked.
